Aroma is quite heavy with blueberry but the taste is not so much so. I do taste a creamy chocolate and coffee. Smooth lingering slightly bitter finish. Very drinkable. The flavor is a dry mix of dark chocolate and blueberries. Medium bodied and smooth. I like how they packed a ton of fruit flavor that perfectly compliments the chocolate without the beer being sweet and sticky. By flavor impact, I guessed this was almost twice the strength. fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA

Remarkable accomplishment in itself. Aroma of blueberries and chocolate. Flavor nicely roasted with a hint of coffee, loads more semisweet blueberry and semisweet chocolate. Dry, blueberry finish. Great beer, great dessert, simple, smooth, deceptively decadent, and all at 4.5%. stankenk (130), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Pours a deep black color. The nose consisted of bitter chocolate, coffee, and quite strong in blueberry. It comes across the palate with chocolate, coffee, and subtle hints of blueberry. Finished smooth with a nice stout bitterness. Their was just enough blueberry in this one. The blueberry doesn’t over power the other characteristics of the beer. mmmbeer (751), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 5, 2008 12 oz. bottle (from B&B in Grand Rapids, MI) served in shaker- poured blacker than a bad night in Hockeytown, foamy and thick one finger brown head formed, laced, and hit on my old lady while I was drinking it. Appealing aroma of darkened malt, chocolate, and blueberries by the bushel! Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, malt has been toasted hard, blueberries come in the middle and refuse to go away, finish lingers. Easily my favorite in the series thus far... hellbilly (1532), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

i can’t get the smell of dried blueberries off my mind...9/4/8/4/17/4.2 j12601 (1261), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR in this year’s summer secret santa. Thanks! Pours a viscous midnight black with a dark brown head. Just gorgeous. One of the most beautiful looking stouts I’ve come across, but the head falls off a bit too quickly for me.
Light sweet blueberries, chocolate, and very faint hints of roast. The body is a little thinner than its looks belie, but it’s not thin by any means. Really nice mouthfeel, smooth and supple. Chocolate, blueberry, subdued roast character that leans more towards bitter cocoa than char. A little like a dark chocolate truffle with blueberries in it. Finishes with more lingering bitter dark chocolate flavor. Outstanding.
