Thick pour, opaque and inky black in appearance with a barren expanse of nothing for the head. Aroma elicits an audible "hell yeah," defined by blueberry mocha java, black currant, burnt rubber, dark chocolate and a hint of boysenberries. More easy going flavor than the nose would indicate. Tart, thawing, juicy blueberries with a dark chocolate cocoa powder complexion. Blackberry jam joins a lactic, dark roasted cafe treat. Some singed black cherry traits as well. Medium bodied and slickly expansive. Mild vinous complexity hints as its ability to shine for some time. Beautiful finish of artisan coffee grinds and chocolate blueberry muffins. Big thanks to Styles for this one!

12oz Bottle. Awesome fresh blueberry aroma. All the seeds, stem, flesh and skin of wild blueberries coalesces with a real refined stout character. Light coffee, bright dusty dark cocoa, and lightly cooked blueberries. Pours deep black with a quickly rising rim of hot chocolate tan foam. Probably one of the darkest heads I’ve ever seen. Flavor is right on spot two. Man, the blueberries and the stout work hand in hand. A big part of this is that this is an awesome stout, even without the blueberries. And it’s not all in your face blueberries. It’s a subtle, earthy fruit. Just like wild. Great roasted character, subtle saltiness, and then a very mild blueberry skin approach. A glimmer of hops provides depth to the beer. Carbonation is on point. Fresh. A great stout, paired with the perfect amount of the right fruit. Excellent!

Bottle from Silphium. Very tasty aroma, dry and bitter herbs, with only very light blueberry. I really have to dig for it, and, had this not been called Blueberry stout, I don’t think I’dve noticed it. I’ve got a couple more bottles though so maybe this one is just a little weak, considering other comments. This is still an extremely delicious stout, perfectly dry and sessionable.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle. Poured opaque thick black with a large, lasting, creamy-foamy-shiny brown head. Initial aroma was of fresh blueberries, but as I drew my nose closer to the glass, whoa! - solid, overroast malt - nutty with plenty of baker’s chocolate - woodsmoke, tons of bitter hops, also sour cherry and coffee - this is a great-smelling, dry treat for the nostrils. Taste is almost campfire smoky, burnt, bitter (hops and tart fruits), with coffee-like acidity in the longish finish, which also seemed to have a fair bit of black pepper just as an added benefit. The palate on this one is acidic, thick, creamy and even a little fizzy - I loved it, but calling this a fruit beer is insane - it’s a stout with some fruit added, that can’t really even be tasted, just smelled.

thursday noon 2009 the 2/19.. day off after inventory, time for a treat .. pours a dark brown black, with a pretty head, medium built.. awesome smell, hints of blueberry and other treats .. taste lives up to the wonderful aroma .. blueberry can work so well in beers if done right, this falls in to the the nail and the hammer hitting section, right on! .. i would use a magic lamp wish to try this on draft ..

Thankyou SuIIy for this delicious beer. Pours super super dark. Nose is chocately with hints of blueberries. The taste is like chocalate covered blueberries with a coffee aftertaste. Not very thick either. Very delicious beer.

12 oz bottle from tytoanderso; nose of chcolate cover blueberries with a minor coffee hint! Very black with brown fringes and a very small rusty, small-bubbled head; flavor is very molassey with blueberries and bitter chcolate; finish from the nicely thick body is a little hops!

Bottle. Pours a black body and a thin off white head with some minor ruby brown hues. Aroma and flavor is sweet blueberry pie, a little etoh, sweet bitter chocolate malt and a touch of blueberry. The finish is a nice blueberry flavor.
