Commercial Description:
Cask, Seasonal;
A deep amber-coloured ale brewed with a mixture of the finest roasted barley malts. East Kent Golding hops are added late in the boil to ensure the gentle aroma of England’s favourite hop is retained.

A Mes rate: Cask at The Wenlock.
Very dark mahogany coloured with a decent bubbly off white head. A lovely fruity mild with delicate roasty malt that is very true to style. Slight apple in the finish but it gets away with it. Quaffable and refreshing.

Cask (handpump) at the Sportsman, Amberley, West Sussex. Almost black with a thin tan head. Quite roasty. Unlike Dark Star’s regular mild (Over The Moon) this has no significant hop presence. As such it is rather more traditional in style, although probably has a little too much creamy chocolate for purists. Fine by me though. Very drinkable.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Evening Star, Brighton. A black beer with an off white head. The aroma is dry and roasty. A mild mild with burnt malts an a little hoppiness. Pretty decent.

Cask @ Green Dragon, Croydon. Pours an amber coloured beer with a snmall white head. Aroma of roasted malts and hops. Taste is disappointingly weak. A watered down porter by another name.
