Cask conditioned at The Rake, Borough Market, London. Amber to copper with white head. This was very nice indeed, hoppy, fresh, tangy with a nice bready malt note. lasting on the tongue, but my lasting memory is strolling through the market behind Tom looking for a cage of beer, which turned out to be Utobeer, taking delicious gulps of this. You are going to have to work on that accent my friend.

Oct 2, 2009. Cask gravity at The Chequers, Little Gransden, Cambridgeshire, home of the Son of Sid Brewery, in 1st Chequers Beer Festival ’09. Gold with a small white head. Floral hop aroma with a hint of ripe pineapple. Sweet malty taste with a sharp bitter finish.

Cask handpull at The Rake. Another awesome beer form Dark Star. Some lager malts which are soft and stupidly drinkable in the mouth with some subtle hop flavours on the finish. I will try to get this again as I think I may rate this even higher. It’s just how drinkable it is with the interesting flavours in it making you want to drink it again.

A Mes rate. Cask at The Rake.
Clean gold with a thin off white head. Slight ethanol and generally American style hoppy aroma. Similar flavour with a hint of German malt. Nothing much ’Oktoberfest’ about it but it’s well balanced and very drinkable.

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London on 7th October 2009. Amber with offwhite head. Rich and intense hop flavours, a little delicate spiciness and slight cheese notes (desired) with a rich, intense hoppy finish of long duration. Excellent pint, perfectly kept.

Cask-condtioned at the Market Porter, Southwark 06/10/09. Amber coloured with a slight white head. My notes on this are scanty, but the spicy hops were the main feature alongside some fruitiness. Finish was pleasantly dry. Ok.
