This Hefeweizen pours a hazy golden yellow brew with a thick white head that dissolves to a fine film with good lacing. Aroma of citrus peel, pink cotton candy, soem vanilla, flour wheat, and just a touch of yeast. Very little banana scene. Taste is light creamy, average carbonation, with a touch of cloves and yeast to the tongue. Finish is semi-sweet and a faint yeast aftertaste that slowly dissappears. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2007 A good beer, but not as good as the dunkelweizen. Fairly clear, especially for the style. I like a cloudy, yeasty hefeweizen. Fairly light aroma with wheat, citrus, some banana. The flavor has similar qualities. More wheat, banana, citrus. The flavor is right but it is too light, and I would like this to be a little sweeter with a heavier and thicker palate. A good beer, but made me think of a kristalweizen rather than a hefeweizen. Light banana taste that took a back seat to a wonderful fresh clove flavor. phishpond417 (1946), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2009 Pours a slightly hazey golden colour with a fluffy top. Sampled this two different ways. The first way was warmer then the second. Huge difference in everything. Fruity and bananna notes come out full force with the warmth of the beer (dur, makes sense). Pineapple and lemon zest. Aroma is super pleasent in every aspect. It’s so great to finally taste german brew that is so close to it’s style. tennisjoel (946), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2008 As this is one of my favorite styles, I tend to be fairly critical of it. Banana, clove, and bubblegum aromas with some faint lemon. Spritzy texture, highly carbonated. Filtered, which I don’t prefer. Fairly average hefe, nothing mind blowing. grimreeser (797), Minnesota, USA
