A little sweet. I have never tasted a dunkel with so much roasted character. Very good. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2007 After seeing Skyview’s raves, I decided to head down to Menomonie and check out Das Bierhaus for myself. I ordered the sampler, in which I got about 4 oz. each of all five of Das Bierhaus’ beers for the very reasonable price of $5. I have the name of this one listed as "Das Bierhaus Munich Dunkel." Lightly roasted malt aroma of chocolate and raisins. Pours a cloudy brown with an amber hue and off-white head. Produces extensive lacing. Appears to be unflitered. Very cool look. Nice, simple, chocolatey and caramely flavors. Dry, hoppy finish. Hoppy and roasted bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body. Smooth in the palate. Like all of Das Bierhaus’ beers, the Munich Dunkel is true to the style and a quality brew. Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Visited Das Bierhaus for their official Grand Opening on June 30. This dunkel pours a semi-clear brown amber brew with an average off-white head that dissolves to a fine film with good lacing in glass. Aroma of sweet caramel, buckwheat honey, Hawaiian sweet bread and a touch of seasoned pepper. Taste is smooth, very lightly carbonated, medium to full body with a touch of flowery hops. Finish is smooth, creamy with a sweet hazelnut aftertaste with just barely and hop bitterness. Quite semi-sweet for a dark beer. Overall, it’s a fantastic well-balanced German style dark beer in America.
