Gold in color and a white head, it looks very nice. Aroma has light hops. The flavor is a surprise, mild hops and very salty. One of the saltiest beers I have ever had, like a gose. Herbal, vegetal finish. It is hard to find a pilsner so thick and heavy on the palate, quite a rare thing. The best pilsner I have had outside of the Czech Republic, and certainly my favorite non-Bohemian style pilsner. BDR (2167), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2007 After seeing Skyview’s raves, I decided to head down to Menomonie and check out Das Bierhaus for myself. I ordered the sampler, in which I got about 4 oz. each of all five of Das Bierhaus’ beers for the very reasonable price of $5. The Pilsener has a very nice, fruit-heavy aroma with apricot, pear, green grape, honey, and floral hops scents. Pours a sparkling pale gold with a white head. The flavor features a honey-sweet maltiness and, more prominently, an aggressive dry hoppiness. This is my kind of pilsner (i.e., very hoppy)! Medium body (full by the standards of a lager). Lively and frothy in the palate. This is a very good pils. It’s easily one of the best American pilsners I have tried, although I should note that its German heritage is unmistakable. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 1, 2007 Visited Das Bierhaus for their official Grand Opening on June 30. This beverage pours a clear rich golden blonde brew with a nice white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film. Excellent lacing that occurs naturally or after taking a drink. Aroma of sweet Hawaiian bread dough, sunflower honey, with flowery hops. Taste is slightly thick, creamy, medium body (surprising for a Pils), lightly carbonated, with a slight sweet bread aftertaste. Finish is smooth, light and a near clean aftertaste. By far, one of the best pilseners I have had to date.
