| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 28, 2009 On draught at the Das Bierhaus in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy dark cola brown brew with a thick and creamy off-white head which slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of dark wheat and Munich malts, some banana ester, caramel, and some rye bread dough. Taste is smooth and creamy, medium bodied, with flavors of dark wheat malt, a hint of rye, floral hops, German yeast and a hint of smoked pork. Finish has nice yeast and multi-grain aftertaste with a very faint metallic texture. The rye is in there but very light. Nice to see Das Bierhaus added some new beers since last year.
