This beer pours amber like colors, with an aroma that seems to warm without even a taste. Palate-wise its tough because we are talking about an 8% beer, however, one will not be disappointed. Try with kassler ripchen and spicy mustard. Skyview (4085), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 27, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in downtown Menomonie, Wisconsin. Pours an unfiltered, hazy caramel amber brew with a decent thick and creamy beige head that has some excellent retention and lacing throughout. Aroma is quite malty, with some wheat character, yeast, a hint of chocolate and some light soft bread dough. Taste is medium to full bodied, soft texture, very light carbonation with flavors of bread dough, light yeast, toffee, and even a hint of herbal spice. Finish has a mild banana aftertaste, soft-dry texture with a little alcohol warmth after the finish. A sampler size glass of this weizenbock will not give its full character profile. Instead, try at least a half litre to appreciate this outstanding winter beer.
