Pub (4123), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Nov 22, 2004 Cask Conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Bright amber to gold colour, sparkler removed!, bubbly laced head. Ooh err, I seem to be out of step to previous raters, but I found this to be a little gem. Honeyed fresh biscuity malt, snapping with condition and a golden fragrant hop complete a well put together Premium Bitter. It must have been good, we had 4 of them each on a Sunday Lunchtime. Growing up in the Midlands, Davenports meant Beer at Home, delivered to your door like milk. I’m glad to see the old brand return even though the beer was nothing as good as this. DeepBlack (387), Derby, Derbyshire, England Oct 21, 2004 Had on draught from the Cask in The Alex, Derby. With a Sparkler.
Mid - light brown in colour. Quite a creamy Ale this one & not really to my taste, still quite nice though. Certainly easy drinking. Spiesy (2331), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Oct 16, 2004 Cask Conditioned, Masque Haut, London.
Golden honey colour, with good conditioning, patchy white head. Biscuity honeycomb flavour. Bitter, rather chemical aroma, Draino?
Sigmund (1961), Hafrsfjord, Norway Sep 25, 2004 Cask at The Cricketers, Ipswich. Deep golden colour. English malt vinegar aroma and flavour. Low on hops. Far from brilliant.
