Apple pie, old wood, cinnamon, earth, small dose of honey, light colored fruits. Weird at first, but growing on me as it warms. Medium body, still. Very good, surprising. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA

It’s sweet like syrup with honey, fruit, and cinnamon. The appearance is golden and still. The flavor is where this one goes wrong. There is a sour taste that ruins the fruit and cinnamon elements. The sweetness from the aroma is hardly present, replaced by a more dry vinous character. The palate is thin. I am not really that impressed with this mead. It smells a lot better than it tastes. I think they used the wrong yeast and it might need more time to mature. Palidor19 (1791), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 19, 2007 A true paradox in mead, the aroma is heavily, its got a sherry like aroma with some spice. taste however it is like a tart apple cider, that doesn’t work well. it like the mead makers used the wrong yeast when they could’ve made something really special, instead its sub par. Maybe I’m a mead moron, but I thought this tased really good. Granted it tasted a bit like cider, but I loved it.
<P>
Anyway, the aroma is woody, vegetal and quite spicy with cinammon standing out. The body is golden, clear, still and headless just as every mead I have ever had looks. The flavor is simple....wood, apple, honey and cinammon. It does in fact taste like some liquid version of mom’s apple pie baked on a wooden pie tin. But I farking loved it. I thought the flavor was very good, if simple. I’d happily drink it again. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Pours clear yet tanted with Coors Light yellow-ish hue. Big aroma with odd yeast and alcohol notes that border on freezer burned rotting vegetation. The taste starts sweet then some of the interesting yeast notes and alcohol enter the picture. Taste is pretty nice. The finish creeps up with cinnamon apple pie. Very interesting. Pours a golden body with of course no head. Nose of spices, honey, wood, apples, cinammon, nutmeg. You would think that would be good, but for some reason it smells "off". On the tongue it tastes very cider like, with apples, honey, and the spices coming through. Tastes better than it smells. Very silky on the palate. A good amount of alcohol burn greets you in the finish, which is also slightly sweet and of medium length. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 27, 2007 Light, very hazy golden body. In lieu of legs, a solid sheet of sticky honey teeters from the inside of the glass. An interesting conglomeration of bubbles gathers at the bottom of the glass. A slight apple-green tint encapsulates the golden remainder. Honey precedes heavy spices in the nose. Floral tones exude lavender and orange blossom water scents. Apples and doughy crust meld nicely with very moderately concealed alcohol. Perfumed as heavily as it is, musty notes seep through with focused intensity. Interesting, for sure. I wouldn’t delude someone’s explanation of this by calling it complex, but it’s got enough intricacies to be deemed worthy of sampling and sharing. Flavor is unorganized and really has lost much of its vibrancy. Spicing is muddled, cinnamon and orange pith noticeable first. Honey is dulled. Alcohol is far too noticeable for a sweetened mead. Finishes warm and dull, reasonably respectable length. Average at its very best.
