(Bottled@Erasmus) Hazy, nutty amber color with a smallish, lasting head. Port-wineous, slightly cellary, sweetish aroma wth figs. Sweetish, toffee-caramely flavor with figs, port and oak. Some herbs (rosemary, salvia) too.Medium-bodied, surprisingly fresh palate with low carbonation. Slightly syrupy. Much softer and slightly ashy with yeast. Although it may not be at its best anymore, it’s still a very enjoyable brew, with which you’ll sit for long and not because it’s so bad ;).

Bottled at Erasmus,Brugge Pours a hazy amber with a creamy white head.Lots of gunk in the bottle and in the glass.. Aroma is slightly sour, yeasty, plums and other dark fruits. Burnt sugar and honey. Taste is fruity, lots of de Dolle yeast, plums, honey, and rather oxydized. Full mouthfeel, and a long sweet fruity aftertaste. This beer is over the top.

At Erasmus Brugge. Hazy dirthy blond beer with big white head. Malty and bread like aroma’s, also touches of oxidized fruits. taste is soft and peppery with a sooth cake like accent. a little to old IMO (gout anglais)

Bottle (Erasmus): Caramel, bread and yeast dominate aroma. Sweet caramel in flavour but not cloying. Prunes and port there too. Suprisingly light in colour considering flavour, hazy light amber with a beige lasting head. Medium soft smooth mouthfeel. Nice!

Bottle, Erasmus, Bruges. Head is mostly lasting. Body is hazy light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie, caramel), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, mold), with notes of cherry, wood, sherry/cardboard, and alcohol. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A little past its prime, for my tastes, but still compelling and interesting. Smells like the old Rodenbach yeast.

Very nice amber colored beer with a small light taned head. Fine and complex aroma’s with hints of flowerpollen, yeast, honey, bisquits and some mediciale aroma’s. Smooth and light sweet attac with hints of fruit, nuts, malts, honeyed toffee, Oloroso sherry, and dry hops. It end with and outspoken alcohol burn and with an oxidized bitternes. Thanks Tom from the "Erasmus" in Bruges for this rare bottle.

Bottled. Purchased at Brasserie Erasmus. Reddened amber body with a medium tan head. Nose is very honeyish and sweet with light malt notes and light floral notes. Taste is more honey, some tart fruit, flowers, mild malts, and spice. Body is bubbly and effervescent but still kind of light. Finish is light honey notes, tart fruits, anjd mild dryness. Good beer!

Sampled at Erasmus in Brugge, Belgium. Apparently this beer was a special release from De Dolle celebrating the 21st anniversary of Erasmus which was in 1998. Muddy Orange. Very lively. The aroma just exploding out of the glass. Notes of plums, prunes and honey in the nose. Mellow, aged, soft and very delicious with lovely fruit notes; plum, peach and pear. Definately sweetened with cane sugar.
