| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Pours a hazy golden color with a huge whipped marshmallow head. Aroma is band-aids, bubblegum, and raisins.
Flavor is dry, bitter, and yeasty but in a nice way. There’s a little to much of the chewing on aspirin astringency to this one to be really nice, but there’s a lot going on in the background that’s exceptional. Some great malt flavor and some chewiness. Not my favorite De Dolle, but not bad. Bontus (306), Waasmunster, Belgium
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Updated: Nov 26, 2008On tap @ De Dolle Brouwers brewery. (and several bottles in rerating) Pours golden blonde with a huge white head. Nose is kandisugar and flowers. Hops overall present from nose to aftertaste. A bit too cloying if you swish it through your mouth.
Also yeasty and sweet.
Dry-hopping makes this a remarkable beer with a perfect flavorbalance sweet-bitter-sour. On the swallow this beer leaves you reminding why you love beer. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 18, 2008 11.2 ounce bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle, WA--Exploding, cascading, Vesuvius, super carbonated head. 1/3 of it ended on the counter top. Hazy, orange-amber body with a thick three-finger meringue head. Sweet, fruity bubblegum nose with spicy clove and coriander notes. Yeasty esters. Sharp effervescent mouthfeel. Musky flavor that lingers astringent and attenuated. Sweet and musty finish. Lost of oniony and gritty hops linger on back of tongue. smith4498 (919), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Pours hazy golden orange with off white head. Belgian yeast aroma. There is defiantely more yeast in the nose than in the flavor. Moderate malty flavor with some hop bitterness that is not too overpowering. Slight metallic taste with a dry, crisp finish. Medium body with spritzy carbonation (same as all De Dolle beers I have had) and a somewhat thin mouthfeel. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2008 massive white head that sparkles in great rockiness, hazy dark yellow body with light yellow highlight, and few random streams of beading tiny bubbles; light banana, lightly puckering citrus, definitely yeasty, and barely any alcohol presence; somewhat thick and oily yet fizzy and creamy; very good. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Orange colored brew. Yeasty aroma. Flavor is yeasty too, fruity and tick, creamy palate. Nice one. MrChopin (668), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2008 I don’t think I’ll ever serve another Dolle beer below room temperature... took 10 minutes just to pour a decent glass on this hyperactive beast. Rich gold, the off-white head is mountainous. Strong spice and sour citrus nose, pepper, thick yeast... Wow is that dry and biting. Loads of bitter spice all over the flavor or grapefruit, , though it isn’t acrid like Oude Beersel. Super aggressive, this one makes Mad Bitch look like Gentle Housemaid.
