Bright cloudy amber pour with two finger off-white head. Sour yeasty and summer fruit aromas. Tons of candied sugar, but not cloying. Not as funky as other De Dolle beers, but the abundant alcohol keeps the taste interesting. Definitely better as it warms. I’d serve around 65 degrees. Nice one. joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA

Aroma is candy sugar, apricot, bit of yeast. Taste is interesting -- intense candy sweetness, spicy, but with a slight mellow hop bitterness on the finish that tends to grow. Dry. The spicyness and hops do a great job of balancing out the sweetness. Finish is slightly bitter, dry after an initial hit of dark fruits and spicy sweetness. Some alcohol too. Great beer from one of my favorite brewers. RCL (1477), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2008 Updated: Jun 2, 2008330ml bottle served in a tulip glass. A hazy amber liquid with an orange glow to it topped by a large foamy white head. Smells of banana, candi sugar, lemongrass, and maybe some dried apricot. Has a doughy lemon flavor with alcohol that gets up into your sinus. Finishes dry and nicely bitter. The alcohol and bitterness meld together nicely but alcohol does win out in the end. Overly apparent alcohol as the beer warms is its only major detraction, otherwise it is superb like every other De Dolle beer that I have had. Bhops (334), Dallas, Texas, USA
