| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Extremely carbonated pour, hazy light apple cider color with a big frothy white head that is slow to dissipate. Aroma also holds apple cider, pear, yeasty dough, a bit of Belgian spice, and a bit of orange rind, and some tartness that applies itself to the fruit qualities. Flavor has great Belgian yeast qualities, good tart citrus, pear, and apple, and some sweet honey notes as well. Finish holds a lot of booze; the 10% really adds a nice warming quality. Palate holds lots of the carbonation from the pour, and slides across the tongue with good presence, but not too much thickness. Really a nice BSA light; De Dolle continues to impress me. oteyj (780), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2009 Pours like apple cider with copious billowing white topographic foam. Aroma is spontaneously fermented applejack, pear, dough, citrus, tart peach, and nectarine. Flavor is quite fruity- tart nectar is followed closely by an ester filled yeasty dough profile. A honey like light sugar profile yields tart fruit and prevalent booze. Palate is medium bodied and highly effervescent, making way for a pillowy, warming finish. Super unique and interesting. patrickfannon (370), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 12, 2009 cloudy orange, giant smooth offwhite head, creamy and super smooth, looks real nice. also nice lacings.
aroma is spicy , citrussy, sourish, very delicious.
flavor is sweet citrussy, faint caramelly, slighly sour, faint yeasty, faint hoppy bitter. real nice. however the last 3rd of the bottle was somewhat sweeter, more yeasty, peachy and bitter. so first half was 8 bordering to 9, second half only a plain 7. alagnak (359), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2009 33cl bottle. THis is the 1st de dolle I’ve had in the US that hasn’t been a gusher. Nose is exquisite - herbal spice and tart orange candy with a background of that wonderful, uniquely De Dolle yeast. Flavor has some wine grape and light honey sweeteness to start, a pleasant alcohol heat and more of that great DD spicy yeast that is certainly their trademark. Realy nice prickly carbonation and a hint of hop bitterness to cleanse. Nice one. DeeBee21 (45), NH, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2009 hazy apricot pour, big fluffy white head. A bit of tart orange and raspberries in the nose, biscuit yeasty-ness with that nice spicey note as well. Flavor is exactly as expected, Lots of spice yeast at front turns into a tart fruit sugar. Quite enjoyable for such a boozy beer. Jblauvs (605), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Hazy gold pour, Lively beer with a huge frothy head. SPicy belgian yeast aroma with some earthy, anise notes as well. Tart and a bit vinous as well, mild fruitiness. Flavor is a continuation of the aroma, Spicy vinous flavor with alcohol warming and a spicy yeastiness. A sweetness of candi sugar. I agree with PilsnerPete below, definitely pear fruitiness and some mild herbal tones. Finish is dry. Tastey Strong Ale
