Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Big thanks to Guerde for bringing this. MN Winter RB gathering. Lots of tropical and citrus fruits with a good dose of yeastiness. FLavor is much the same with a lot of fruit flavor balancing the yeasty spiciness.

Sampled at the MN RB Winter Gathering. Bottle from Guerde. Sweeter on the nose and tongue than expected. Clovey yeast and honey on the nose. Pours cloudy gold with a thin white head Strong candy sugar and honey malt sweetness on the tongue. There’s enough spicy and dry yeast to balance, though. Fairly thick with good spicy carbonation on the tongue.

Sampled at the MN Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a hazy gold with a large white head. A yeasty, bready aroma with some sweet fruit and spices too. The taste is very much like a trippel, with a strong candi sugar sweetness, and a long bready finish and a thick mouthfeel. Not bad.

Sampled at MN Ratebeer Winter Gathering in Maplewood, MN and supplied by Guerde. From a 375 ml bottle pours a hazy amber brew with a thin off-white head that slowly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of tropical fruit, some yeast, orange zest and a touch of honey. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of dry spiced fruity malt, some yeast and a touch of candi sugar. Finish is bready malt, with a slight honey aftertaste and a decent alcohol warmth.

Hazy amber with medium head. Sweet aroma with yeast, peach and orange peel notes. Flavor is sweet and spicy with orange peel, honey and alcohol. Ends bitter.

I was trying to have a lower alcohol content brew. So much for that 10%. Pours an orange yellow color with a medium sized fizzy head. Smelsl liek yeast, bread, and malt. Taste like caramel, wheat, and belgian sugar. This one was a bit different and I liked it.
