Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Initial flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and ligth acidic, finish flaovr is moderate to heavy sweet, light acidic and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very nice ;o))

Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a big rocky white head. Noticable sediment got into my glass. Standard Belgian sharpness. Sweetness. Alcohol, a strong cinnamon spice element. Balances sweet with alcohol and spice well. Rather thin body for the level of aroma, alcohol and flavor. Though the carbonation is subdued to low. Sweet alcoholic taste and a unidimensional malt, but the alcohol cuts it well. Apple cider hints. Cinnamon spice. A little diacetyl. Alcoholic finish, lingering tart aftertaste with esters? Not bad, but not great, and over priced.

Bottle @ Brugs Beertje, Brugge. An unclear golden beer with small, dense off-white head. Sweetish malty and quite raw hoppy aroma. Notes of yeast and perfume. Taste is not that impressive; Slight malty with a sourish, hopbitter and mildly spiced flavor . A bit out of balance. Good body. Dryish mouthfeel. A very nice beer , but this one don’t thrill me like the other classy De Dolle beers.

Bottle. A clear golden yellow with a small, foamy and stable white head. Aroma is sweet and malty - complex and quite full in it’s feel with a youghurt feel. A warming and full mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, fresh and well hopped.

11.6 oz Bottle-Trade w/DragonStout. Cloudy, hazy golden color w/a slight white head & great lacing which lasted through the glass. Sweet floral aroma. Spicy flavor of appricots & malt, with traces of yeast & honey. Light blond appearence, but kind of a dark flavor, tastes darker than it looks. Long sweet , spicy woodsy finish. Alcohol is evedant. Good solid brew, it’s no SNSR ’05, but not much else is??
