Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden color with a humongous off white head, that hung around a while. Aroma is yeast, cherries, malt, honey. Flavor is yeast, honey, cherries, drid fruits, caramel malt. Palate is medium bodied, highly carbonated, delicious, somewhat sweet right away, then finishes somewhat dry. Wonderful stuff.

Giant foamy head that took forever to dissipate. Opaque gold pour with suspended yeast. Aroma of yeast, fruit, honey, and malt. Flavor was strong and wonderful. Yeast, terrific yeast, dominated followed by honey, fruit, grain, and malt. Somewhat sweet right before the finish, the true finish is very dry, leaving me parched and drinking more. A very distinct Belgian Strong Ale.

An Easter beer on Easter day. Wonderful sweet neutral fruits, some ginger and orange peel, honey, and some old basement funkiness. There is a bit of alcoholic vapor here that carries a mild hops note, some yeastiness, and that particular Old World funk that is common in so many Belgian beers - a background aroma that is hard to find in anything over here. Body is a dark golden-amber clear with tons of bubbles, which results in an eggshell meringue, fluffy and piled up everywhere. Naturally, a huge amount of lacing from this. Gets cloudier as the dregs are added. Heavy watery body, lots of mouth presence, and a high amount of carbonation. Alcohol warming, for sure. Starts with a high amount of sugary sweetness, orange peels, honey, and light graininess. Dry herbal grassiness comes after, with a nice amount of bitterness in the finish. But it is not hopped enough to overcome the sweetness of this one. Mild dry graininess and a bit of barnyard funk in the after, with ever present coating sweetness. Light chalky bitter for final taste. This was a really nice beer to wait for.

bottle from Knightly Spirits, Orlando - huge head - sweet, malty, lightly spicy, soft mouthfeel, slightly dry end - very very enjoyable!

bottle from the rake. Hazy wheat in colour with a decent white head. Loads of honey sweetness in the nose with citrus notes. The taste is almost overwhelmed by burning alcohol and is a bit too sweet - cane sugar, honey, fruits and spices are still very noticeable. Buttery finish with alcohol and sweet malts
*Re-rate - Pours amber with an orange/ tangarine nose, some vanilla hints. Sweet and spicy with notes of yeast, honey, corriander and a touch of malt. Much enjoyed.

Nce hazy, pale orange colour with big and lasting head. Yeast and mild citrus fruits in the aroma. Nice smooth mouthfeel and a quite complex taste of fruits, coriander, and alchohol. Quite malty finish.

Enjoyed at Taco Mac in Suwanee GA. Poured from a bottle. Blonde color with a huge head. Medium, bitter taste..somewhat spicy. I did enjoy it very much though. Didn’t taste like ABV of 7% at all, but could tell higher content once I got finished 2/3 of glass.

The head is very nice on this hazy, straw colored beer. The aroma has notes of yeast and fruit, the mouthfeel is smooth. It’s a very exciting and complex flavour with notes of fruit, yeast, smoke, licorice, sweetness and bitterness. This Easter beer is truly wonderful!
