Pours with a gigantic white head (probably would have gushed if I had opened it warmer), over a hazed golden yellow body. Aroma of pears, apple skins, earth, toffee, and light flowers. Taste is candi sugar, pear eau de vie, musty books and crusty bread. Alcohol is noticeable. Slightly spicy yeast. Low residual sugars, tingling bubbles. Very nice. nightrider (383), encinitas, California, USA

Not bad but not very complex. BeerViking (207), Brentford, Greater London, England

Pours cloudy orange with a white midsized head.Yeasty orangey aroma with bread and coriander notes and alcohol, flavour is like beery orange-mango juice, though dry rather than sweet, and with a dry bitter finish. Only in the finish does the strength become apparent. Weird! Travlr (787), Washington, Washington DC, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Bottle seems to be over carbonated as it poured a ridiculously massive head into my Duvel glass. Nonetheless, the aroma is outstanding. Yeasty with a fruit and honey center. The flavor is a smooth malt with a slight bitterness on the end. Like most belgian beer its all about the yeast. I can taste no trace of alcohol which makes this superbly drinkable. Ahh, if only all beer was this well crafted....life would make much more sense. evergreen0199 (281), London, Greater London, England
