Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

6-3-07: Pours hazy gold int a trappist glass. Huge fluffy micro head with excellent retention. Spicy, sour fruit aromas. Honey caramel and pepper. Lasting, Dry, Westy-like lasting finish. Better than last year’s batch. 4-16-06: Pours deep gold into a tumbler. Very little head that skims the rim. Sour aroma. Very light and fizzy with a tripel flavor that was not in the aroma. Abrupt sour finish. Very nice. Definitely more than 7% but the bottle did not denote. 8/4/8/4/16.

Champagne-like aromas, with caramel, sweet yeastiness, and some citrus. A goliath white head, rising out of th ejust-opened bottle and over an inch tall after the pour. Dense on the palate, tight bubbles, lingering flavor, and a nice effervescence. Champagne is a good omparison for the flavor, too, savory and vinuous. The sweetness from the residual sugar is nice, not overpowering, and complements the beer. The alcohol is substantial and accompanies the hop bite, then dries the finish. A nice, well-thought craft belgian strong.

Fabulous, bready and mildly fruity aroma. The breadiness is so powerful and perfect. Very little complexity really but its just relaxing and pretty unique, from what I’ve seen, at least at this level. The flavor has a bit of breadiness, and a mild honey ting, laced with slight hops and bitterness and a bit much alcohol taste. Fusel alcohols, perhaps. Oily and nutty. A really nice beer.
