Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

A sweet, spicy Easter blonde. The abv on the current version has dropped to 7%. Poured a cloudy unfiltered honey colour with a rocky 3cm lacing head. Good head retention. Sweet- sour yeasty aroma has a nose-prickling sherbety quality. Bubblegum notes, lemony hops and a hint of the native honey. Smooth, syrupy palate, lightly carbonated, with a glorious warming finish. Lots of upfront sweet malt and honey, then a spicy middle before that rather tart, dry finish. At room temperature, it seemed a fraction cloying - might benefit from being served a few degrees cooler. (33cl bottle, International Beer Shop, Perth, best before May 06)

This is my favorite De Dolle beer. Great full bodied sugary, spicy malt flavor. Warms the soul as it goes down. A beer I wish i could drink everyday.

hazy bright amber color. foamy off-white head that goes quickly. aromas of white grapes, raisins, honey, and syrupy malt scent. very high carbonation. sweet malt flavor, very juicy. fizzy, tart, and tangy like orange peel with spices. lightly bitter/dry finish.

This beer poured a yellow color with a moderate head. The aroma is primarily lemons and alcohol. Upon first taste the alcohol was the first thing I notice. Beyond that I got lemons, honey, and some spices. Overall a fairly well crafted beer.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Murky amber ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Wonderful, lasting, creamy retention. Yeasty... breadsy... citrusy aroma. Notes of pink bubblegum and wildflower honey. Decently-balanced, lightly sweet flavor. Sweetbread up front; astringent bitterness afterward. Medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Alcohol is fairly well-disguised. Lengthy, dry, grassy finish. World class brew that really hit the spot on a warm, late Spring day.

A visual disaster, hazy gold and swarming with particles, a tall fizzy head that collapses as you complete the pour - - but it’s got a dandy aroma, sweet malt filled with yeasty fruit flavors, honey, and a solid whiff of alcohol. It’s got a biting, fruity flavor, spice and alcohol laden. It has a sour and dry finish. Another goody from De Dolle.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy beige color ale with a huge bubbly head with better then average retention. Aroma of yeast us extremely present as well as strong malt and a huge spice mix. Funky yeast with strong spice mix and some sugary feeling at the end. Body if full and alcohol, is well hidden. Another great De Dolle beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Typical muddy DDB-appearance, pale amber in colour and a thick head. Soft, sweetish (from the added cane) and very pleasant from the refined spiciness. 040494
