Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

A wonderfully typical Belgian from De Dolle: Spiced nose with sweet yeast, appetizing golden hue and great crown. These guys just do it right. Love that bunny with the frog feat on the label :-)

Aroma is herbaceous, candi sugar, date&fig, butter, and a medicinal alcohol. Orange-amber in color with a soild, creamy, off-white head. Flavor reflects the aroma though it is definitely less complex. Alcohol is spicy and adds complexity and helps cut the high residual sugar that is part of the creamy body.

Happy rabbit!!! Perfumey, floral, orange hops and sweet candy-like malt in the soporific aroma. Opaque wet straw coloured body is topped by a fizzy but constantly replenishing, white head that leaves some lacing down the sides of the glass. Herbal hop flavour, lightly sour citrus-orange, burnt honey-like sweetness in the flavour with hints of alcohol and pleasant, mild, medicinal phenols. Lasting fruity and leafy flavours in the aftertaste. Moderately warming with medium-light body and champagne-like, strong carbonation that engages the tongue and cheeks. Tulip glass, cellar temp. Bottle (Julio’s, Mar. 2005).

33 cl bottle. Cloudy orange with a nice head and chunks of yeast. Aroma of fresh peaches and yeast. Taste is silky smooth, De Dolle style with some peppery and cany sugars. Very well done. Very well balanced. Nice warming alcohol finish. Just good stuff.
