Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Brewed in Belgium...... Wanted to send March out with a bang !!! And this one did not disappoint. Shot out like a volcano and lost over half of the bottle.. Pours a hazy golden color with tons of sediment and a thick white head. Aroma of spices, citrus, oranges and pepper. Taste is of spices, pepper, citrus, vanilla and honey. Mouthfeel has some nice carbonation to it with a slightly dry sourness at the finish.

Bottle. Honey sweet at first, then spicy, ending in a hoppy aftertaste. Pretty strong and with a lot of bubbles. Didn’t expect it to be so good.

bottle, pours a murky yellow brown with a tall white head. Sweet sugary nose with a light spice lingering in the background. Malty body that gives a sourness like orange or lemon zest and fades into a bitter hop and spice finish. Very funky.

Well oops... I didn’t age any of my other De Dolle beers long enough and little did I know this beer, aged two years, wasn’t supposed to be aged. Watch out, its a gusher, pours a murky golden with loads of sediment and a medium white fizzy dense soda head. Sweet candi sugar and juicy hop aroma, orange, vanilla, hint of honey, touch of spices, slightly oxidized. Sweet juicy first taste, oranges, vanilla, lightly spicy, bit of honey, finishing fruity and slightly bitter with a soft note of alcohol and yeast. Quite rich. Sharp fluffy carbonation explodes in the mouth, medium-thick syrupy body.

Pouts copper with a nice billowy white head. Smells funky and dry. Tastes of dry malt, perfumy, funky, a touch of tartness. easy drinking (way too easy for a 10%ABV beer).

Bottle gusher. Pours a cloudy copper with a dense head. Intense aroma of dill, vinegar, grapes, apples, and brown sugar. Medium body. Taste is of sweet fruit malt balanced with some sour bitterness. The alcohol is well hidden. Delicious.

From a 330mL Bottle. Somewhat hazy, goldenrod yellow colored pour with a huge head of active, fizzy white. Distinctive aroma of the signature De Dolle yeast - hints of pineapple among a musty, peppery earthiness. Notes of earthy, herbal hops and a light honey sweetness. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel with a scrubbing, effervescent texture. Remarkably dry considering the large nature of the flavors. Starts out with a rustic turbinado sugar sweetness, but melds gracefully into some spicy, peppery yeast phenols that add a tremendous amount of character to the beer. Hints of tangerine juice. A pleasant herbal hop bitterness comes out on the back end, adding a refreshing bitter bite to the back end of an intensely flavored brew. Another De Dolle masterpiece. Light, dry, and highly carbonated with an amazing yeast complexity and frightening drinkability.

Bottle. Pours a pale blond body with a rough white two finger head. Aromatics include spices of peppery hops and coriander. A light nuttiness and some vanilla. A note of honey and citrus to round out the sharp woody tartness to finish. Where did they put 10% in this?
