Commercial Description:
Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented with native honey. As it is a seasonal beer we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Total gusher of a beer. Pisses me off as it was a $6 beer. Should make it cheaper if 1/3 will spill on counter. Pours hazy dark orange with huge amount of very very froathy manilla head. Looks delicious. Aroma delicious - lots of fruit, specifically apples and pears with some belgian yeast and slight alcohol. Flavor nice and fruity with a bit of yeasty doughiness and some spice. Warming alcohol finish. Overall excellent beer.

Crazy stupid gusher - complete soda-syphon. Rating based on the small sample that didn’t end up on the work-surface, floor, or clothes. Murky orange, head the size of a kitchen. I prefer my beers to look like they’re in a glass. Sweet fruity aroma - some plastic and lipstick, but also plenty of christmassy spices. Fairly yeasty too. Soft palate. Huge bitter kick, loads of yeast, but a fair bit of alcohol too. Esters try to cover that too, but fail, and come over as a little one-dimensional. Yeast and hops get pepperier in the mouth with each sip, and end up pretty savoury, with a long dry bitter finish. Almost mustard or horseradishy. Fairly competent belgian ale, but they really need to work out that bottle-conditioning causes CO2 to be produced. I’m surprised they aren’t aware of that by now.

2006 vintage, bottled. Apperance: Brownish orange with a huuuge head. Aroma: Spices, Cider, Fruit (apples primarly), Belgian yeast. Flavor: Apples, Sugar, Apricot, Honey, Belgian yeast. Palate: A bit on the sweeter side at first but there’s definitely some bitterness at the end. Plenty of carbonation too. Warming. Another good beer from the brewery that doesn’t seem to know how to make bad beer :) Recommended!

Pours cloudy dark golden orange with huge white head. Aromas of candy sugar, honey , bread dough and sweet fruit. Flavors of spices, yeast and some alcohol. Medium body with fizzy carbonation and a dry finish.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy gold with a fluffy off-white head which leaves some slight lacing on the glass. Flowery spicy nose, honey, candi sugar, all very rich and lovely. Sweet in flavor, toasted malt, some fruitiness from the yeast ending with spicy, earthy hops. Lush and dry in the mouth. Very good.

We have a gusher!! Bottle pours cloudy golden color with a three finger white head. The head lasted throughout the drink and laced the glass. Aroma is mainly yeast and sweet sugar. Has a medium body with a lot of carbonation. Taste is mainly sweet sugar, yeast, and alcohol. Overall this is not a very complex brew, but is smooth and tasty all the same.
