Big stable light brown head. Fortunately, the flavour is better. Quite acidic and fruity, some raisin and strong lactic and lemony acidity. Very interesting. Tastes good, but in small doses. A thick fine-laced brownish head resting on a foggy, dark brown colored body. A superfresh aroma from the lactic acids. Sourcream and yoghurt paired with some inviting sour-acidoulous fruits. Unripe black currant comes to mind. Suggestions of apple-vinegar and wood. Taste has a some subdued caramel notes and a hint of roastiness. Otherwise a pleasant fruity acidiulous sourness is dominating. Lactic acids also well prononced in the flavor. Feels light and vivid in the mouth. Lingering tart fruitiness in the ending. Awsome beer! Utterly refreshing, with the unmistakable De Dolle signature. Wim (1294), Turnhout, Belgium

While waiting in a que to get my glass of draught, I heared it was somewhat like a Rodenbach Grand Cru. A beer I dislike utmost. This porter is more of a sour ale that is gone bad. Acidic and mouthwringing sour, only with lots of fantasy it reminds you of unripe fruits. This beer is not larded with much bitters either. I fed this liquid to the plants outside. Yuck. Sorry plants. 17thfloor (1486), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours an unclear somewhat murky brown with a hint of red and a very fine small fizzy head. Wow, super acidic, so much lacto, of course everyone made the connection to it being more of a Flemish Bruine than a porter, tart and quite juicy, like the aroma it tastes like cider-vinegar, apples puree. I could taste this one for several days after. Great consistency, super fine sparkling carbonation, medium bodied. My favorite of the festival. Ober (1200), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands

The aroma of dark fruits, like cherries, with a little sourness. The taste is a little sour, fruity like cherries with gleams of sweet. A little bitter. The aftertaste is bittersweet. goozen (1088), Leiden, Netherlands

Pours muddy brown with a nice, creamy, beige head. Great duration. Aroma is very woody, some clear fruity and woody tartness. There is a touch of roasted malts as well. Fine mouthfeel, highish carbonation. Flavour has nothing to do with a porter, but is otherwise wonderful. Plums, raspberries, caramel, wood, residual sugars to balance the tartness. Great ,long, sourish aftertaste. Reminded me quite a lot of Goudenband.
