BritAlesRule (84), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 5, 2009 Definitely gives head like Hollywood Boulevard whore. It took me almost twenty minutes to pour this thing. Absolutely yummy beer with a great nose and a perfect palate... Fresh inclosed courtyard orchard scent, very intense, Palate and actual taste is the selling point on this beer. I would love to have one these every day. Awesome cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 3, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a huge fluffy head for days, sheets and sheets of lacing. Aroma of pears, fruity, some cherry, hints of citrus and grapes, slight honey, a touch of spice over a sweet malt backbone. Fruity, spicy, a bit of alcohol, hints of cherry, vinous. Honey, drying finish with a nice spicy hop bitter finish. Lush carb, a bit hot as it warms. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Nov 1, 2009 Bottle from 2002. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity spicy aroma with some yeasty hints. Fruity malty spicy warming flavor with hints of yeast. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty finish. Anker (305), Hillerød, Denmark Oct 31, 2009 Bottle.
Pours hazy orange with some floaties and a big fluffy off white head.
It has a very nice and spicy aroma with notes of orange peel, rock candy, yeast and a hint of banana, cloves and grapes.
The flavour is sweet with some bitterness as well and got notes of spices, yeast, malt and hops.
Very nice and complex. JMerritt (1313), Macomb, Illinois, USA Oct 29, 2009 (My first beer rated since our first-born son, Alexander Dean, joined the family on October 17. Cheers to momma and Xander!) Bottled, courtesy of Narnad, who provided us two bottles (one for me, one for mom). Moderately cloudy, browned orange in color. Frothy white head is absolutely huge, leaving thick, sticky lacing. Musty and yeasty nose, some ripened plums and dates, nutmeg, banana peel, cloves and peach pit. Some decent black pepper spiciness to the nose as well. Floral, yet spicy flavor, nice estery sweetness with vanilla malts, hints of raspberry and candied ginger. Very soft, pillowy carbonation. Finish is dry with some wheat tangyness, a touch too dry for my tastes, and I get a little too much alcohol at the end. But overall, a darn near perfect tripel. Tasty and truly enjoyable. wimpie133 (126), Brugge, Belgium Oct 25, 2009 A yellow - golden beer with a huge white head, very beautiful beer! Aroma is malty and fruity, with some spices for a light grassy note, but also with some light sweetness around. The taste: it is a malty beer overall. First the beer starts with a spicy, grassy, hoppy taste in the mouth, some bitterness, but very soon the light sweetness is coming to the foreground, making this a highly enjoyable soft beer to drink, with a fruity taste added. Another top beer of "De Dolle Brouwers"! nickd717 (1265), Palo Alto, California, USA Oct 25, 2009 Bottle from City Beer in SF. This is one hell of a tripel. Bottle was a gusher, but fortunately not much was lost. Pours hazy golden with a large white head with fairly large bubbles and good lacing. My friend that I shared this with said, "It looks like a real beer." Aroma is typical De Dolle yeast, bready malt, banana, apple, citrus, and spice. Flavor is yeasty with pale malt, green apple, citrusy tartness, banana, and some Noble hops. Palate is medium-full with lively carbonation. ABV well-hidden, but this is definitely not a weak beer by any means. Another great one from De Dolle. ericandersnavy (1038), crossroads, Texas, USA Oct 22, 2009 bottle thanks to bleeng. poured light gold with a white head. aroma of banana, lemon, and spices. flavor was much the same, but you could tell it had some age on it.
