Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy dark golden color with a thick white head that persists. Aroma of light fruit. Flavor of light fruits, gumdrops, rind, spices. Initial sip is nice and fruity, but the swallow’s got some bite! A heavy tripel, really warms your mouth. One of the better tripels I’ve had, although I’m not particularly a fan of the style.

Heavy hoppy aroma. Huge, creamy, white head. Excellent lacing. Cloudy orange body. Moderate bitter flavor. Medium to full palate.

bottle poured into a tulip glass has a orange amber color with lots of fine brown sediment and a beautiful thick one finger white brown head that slowly faded. aroma has figs, plumb, candy sugar, spiced yeast, and alcohol. flavor is thick and sweet with molasses, spiced yeast, fermenting fruit, and alcohol. really a sharp yeast flavor and a hearty malt go well together but virtually no trace of hops here at all.

Little hazy golden appearance with a huge thick lasting & lacing head. Really triple nose with the usual vinous/acidic dolle’s feature. Very ethilic, both nose and MF. Bit yeasty, spicy, dry end.

Bottle acquired through Brussels distributor via direct-to-home shipment. Hazy, light amber w/ moderate head which quickly dissipated. Nose of butterscotch, citrus, and fruit. Taste dominated by butterscotch with underlying fruity notes. Warm alcohol finish with a bit of lingering citric tartness. As this is my first "Mad Bitch", I don’t know if the diacityl effect was an intended flavor profile, or if my bottle is an aberration. I enjoyed the beer, but am bothered by the uncertainty over whether this was a true representation of one of the world’s great tripels. I suspect it was not. It certainly was not a "97", at any rate.

Pours cloudy orange gold with a huge foamy head. Aroma of yeast, geass, citrus, light fruits, and spice. Tastes much the same with a vineous quality that shines through at the end. Finishes very smooth with a warming alcohol. Excellent beer. One of my favorite tripels.

Courtesy of Cheeseman, by way of Boboski. Vintage 8yrs+. Pours a cloudy copper color with a white head; lots of sediment. Aroma is mostly yeast. Tastes of aged sweet light fruits, spice, yeast, and very little hop presence. Finishes with a smooth carbonation feel, almost like champagne. Thanks Dan.

Unclear golden of color with a big cloudy white head. An nice aroma of spice, yeast, hops and fruity. A flavor of fruits, yeast, hops, sweet notes and oily texture.
