Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

(My first beer rated since our first-born son, Alexander Dean, joined the family on October 17. Cheers to momma and Xander!) Bottled, courtesy of Narnad, who provided us two bottles (one for me, one for mom). Moderately cloudy, browned orange in color. Frothy white head is absolutely huge, leaving thick, sticky lacing. Musty and yeasty nose, some ripened plums and dates, nutmeg, banana peel, cloves and peach pit. Some decent black pepper spiciness to the nose as well. Floral, yet spicy flavor, nice estery sweetness with vanilla malts, hints of raspberry and candied ginger. Very soft, pillowy carbonation. Finish is dry with some wheat tangyness, a touch too dry for my tastes, and I get a little too much alcohol at the end. But overall, a darn near perfect tripel. Tasty and truly enjoyable.

A yellow - golden beer with a huge white head, very beautiful beer! Aroma is malty and fruity, with some spices for a light grassy note, but also with some light sweetness around. The taste: it is a malty beer overall. First the beer starts with a spicy, grassy, hoppy taste in the mouth, some bitterness, but very soon the light sweetness is coming to the foreground, making this a highly enjoyable soft beer to drink, with a fruity taste added. Another top beer of "De Dolle Brouwers"!

Bottle from City Beer in SF. This is one hell of a tripel. Bottle was a gusher, but fortunately not much was lost. Pours hazy golden with a large white head with fairly large bubbles and good lacing. My friend that I shared this with said, "It looks like a real beer." Aroma is typical De Dolle yeast, bready malt, banana, apple, citrus, and spice. Flavor is yeasty with pale malt, green apple, citrusy tartness, banana, and some Noble hops. Palate is medium-full with lively carbonation. ABV well-hidden, but this is definitely not a weak beer by any means. Another great one from De Dolle.

Bottle courtesy of bleeng. Dark cheese color pour. Lots and lots of chunks. Aroma of dry bread that has sat on the grocery shelf a day past it’s prime. Tastes dry and bready. Flavor has hints of sweet.

330 ml bottle - a little hair of the dog with this mad bitch this morning; mild gusher leading to huge, eggy white head once poured; dark orange with haze from the yeast residue and bubbling carbonation; musky aromas of orange, lemons, spicy sweetness, grassy hops; spice a little harsh at first with grassy, old malt kind of flavor; slight fruit and hoppy kick; pretty bitter with spice just barely trumping the sweetness; maybe get a little ginger too; just a tad too much spice for me to push it to the top

Beer tasting at wine world. The wife really dug this (not me). Too sweet for my taste and its more expensive than other better tripels?

11.2 oz bottle. Active legs. Cloudy golden pour with a long lasting large bubbled pure white head. Fruity aroma of grape, sour apple, with spices and a drier hop (maybe saaz) note. Wow, this is an excellent tripel. Bready yeasty, nice carbonation level. For the style, this is top notch. Impressed!
