Commercial Description:
De Dulle Teve is brewed in the tradition of a Belgian Triple. Its high density stems from large amounts of pale malt increased with pale candi sugar in the brew kettle. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle-conditioned.

De Dulle Teve keeps two to three years without major changes in taste. Further maturing, up to 10 years, will cause it to darken a little and lose some of its bitterness. The bittering of about 30 IBU is due to Goldings hops in the brew kettle.

Comments added on second try: First bottle wasn’t a fluke, but I "got" this beer this time. It’s liquid butterscotch. Fabulous beer. Extreme and interesting.

Strange one, this. The bottle may not have been good, as it burst out with foam upon popping the cap. Poured great after that. Neat aroma. But the taste was . . . well, different than I should think a Tripel or any beer should be. It wasn’t pleasant at first. Something of a blend between tart and . . . metallic. Off-putting and harsh. Then I got more used to it as I proceeded. By the bottom of the glass it was hardly off-putting at all; more a mellow Tripel with some mild tartness. Maybe I’ll try another bottle.

Beautiful golden yellow with lots of bubbles. Big, big foamy white head that sticks to the glass. Aroma is yeasty with a youghurt feel, straw- and raspberries. Some alcohol and hay as well. Full-bodied, not that creamy, but fills up your mouth fine. Flavours include oranges, lots of malty sweetness, a vinious feel as well as lots of warmth.

Clear yellow coloured, large white head with a lot of carbonation. Strong yeasty alcoholic aroma, some herbal touches. Strong full body, some sprankling. Finish is yeasty, alcoholic sweet, strong with a long and burning ending. Some fruity touches. A mad bitch for sure.

12 oz bottle pored into an Ommegang abbey glass. Really enjoyed this tripel. Poured a mildly cloudy goldish orange color with nice full head. Tiny bubbles lasting throughout. Citrus, spices medium bodied. One of the best tripels I’ve had to date.

Appearance...looking in the bottle, there are tons of yeast particles held in suspension with a small yeast bed stuck on the bottom. The pour gives way to a hazy, pale, orange toned gold with a gigantic, fluffy white head that slowly fades out. Beautiful smounts of fluff stick to the sides of the glass. Smell is of honey, apricot, lemon, tangerine, sugary, florally, poached pear, mild banana & coriander, along with a touch of funk that is welcomed and enticing. Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a very nice dose of yeast that makes me want to culture the strain out of the bottle and go nuts come my next homebrew session. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, mildly sweet, and addictive. Tiny carbonation bubbles are aggressive at first. but turn to a smoothness that delivers nicely.

Pours a cloudy gold with a ton, and I mean TON, on nearly white head. The head is thickly packed. It takes a long while to die back, and when it does, it leaves fantastic lace. I sense a mildly tart aroma something like a Fantome, but not as prominent. Taste is both tart and sweet. And spicy and alcoholic. I taste a little honey, some grain, and some kind of odd hops - let’s say tart floral. Mild dry spiciness. I taste no fruit, no candi. Medium to full body. Aftertaste of alcohol. Medium carbonation. Tasty and rich, this is a good beer. 750 ml bottle. Mad Bitch indeed.

Pours copper / golden with a rich frothy white head. The aroma is quite spicy with wild yeast, barnyard traits and some white grapes - tart and tangy, drier than most tripels. Medium body with lots of playful spritzy carbonation. The flavors start with moderately sweet thick pale malt, some honey, some vineous notes and light spice. The finish brings out the distinct Belgium traits - earthy yeast, barnyard and such. There is a bit of spice and some alcohol presence. A very nice verion of a classic style that is not as sweet as most. Big thumbs up.

Bottle from Rivers Bend. Poured hazy orange color with a huge frothy head that lasted with excellent lacing. Complex spicy fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium fruity balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of long duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a standout beer.
