| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours deep orange with a good amount of haze. An enormous frothy off white head in the tulip glass, spotty lacing. Big nose of Belgian yeast, citrus, banana, green apples. Flavor also held many of the same qualities, lots of apple. Very carbonated mouth feel, light booze and tons of yeast on the finish. alagnak (380), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Another de dolle gusher when opened. Aroma has a lot going on: cotton candy, slight citric, and signature De Dolle yeast. Taste is apples, peaches and a yeasty caramel roll taste upfront, with a middle of warm alcohol burn with a hint of bitterness. Finish is slightly dry and slightly herbaceous. Really interesting and well constructed take on a tripel. mkunz (18), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Medium head, golden orange color. Aroma was coriander, citrus fruit, slightly smokey, sweet, root beer candy. Taste was yeast, spices, ginger, pepper, granny smith apples, alcohol, and a slightly bitter finish. Very good beer and there was plenty more in there we couldn’t quite figure out. HonkeyBra (1385), Lemont, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Dark orange pour with thick white head. Yeasty aroma with some apricot, lemont, citrus. Flavor is candy lemon, some earth. Almost like a lemony cough drop with a honey center. Very creamy mouthfeel with dry, yeasty finish. Absolutely coats the glass. This is pretty special for a tripel, really different for the style. jesperhammer (344), Copenhagen, Denmark

Very light orange colour with high almost white head.
Yeast, oranges and flowers.
Honey element in the taste.
Strong, high alcohol can be felt, it is nicely warming.
Morten brought it and calls it a party beer.
Nice tripel. DerWeg (781), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2009 PFFFT! It opens. What an aroma, almost a geueze like candy-lemon acid intensity! Pours a thick Dark gold with hints of red, active noisy white head vanishes, leaving a viscous menacing liquid. I smell lemon candy. But I said that already. It tastes very full and... lemon candy, spice, cherries and caramel and granny smith apple.. whoah what BODY... the carbonation is absolutely invisible but creamy on the tasting, VERY unique texture. It’s insanely oily and sticky because I have not cooled the bottle... but there is some nice honey presence as well. Late hops presence is a bit dry-wood and herbal and grass. Weltklasse!

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 22, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt notes of cookie and caramel, flowers and lemon for the hops, light yeast note of barnyard, and hints of over ripe pineapple and toffee. Head is large, fizzy, slightly off-white with fair slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is muddy tan with a small amount particles. Flavor starts lightly sweet and heavily acidic, then the long finish is lightly sweet, acidic and bitter. Palate is medium, oily, with a fizzy carbonation and a lightly alcoholic finish. Excellent balance and the flavor’s finish in this Abbey Tripel is one of the best I’ve had in any beer. What’s with the friggin label?
