Commercial Description:
Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 2004 is a special version of De Dolle's Dulle Teve, which has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont's Calvados casks. In addition the "invisible" Calvados hidden in the wood itself has pushed the alcohol of De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva to about 12% to 13%

[At RBSG 2005] An amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, and cork - but in a nice way. The flavor is sweet with notes of peaches, alcohol, and wood. The alcohol burn the throat slightly.

Cloudy orange colors from light at the bottom of the tulip to a rich bronze beneath the huge pristine white head. Lacing produced is pleantiful. Aroma is sour. Fruity vinegar, apple and pear. Has a light crisp aroma. Flavor is sour as the aroma indicates. It is active and a bit nutty. Carbonation is presant and as it dies down the alcohol and an oak character come through with tannins providing great depth of character. Complex beer that is quite nice. Not quite on the level of De Dolle’s Orebier Special Reserve, but still a great beer.

Bottle. Serious thanks to Jeppe for bringing this one over for me at the Low Countries meeting. Looks like a i got the dreggs though. Seriously cloudy and yeasty, but very interesting anyway. Quite yeasty and citric, with warming alcohol, and some slight sourness and bitterness in the finish. Quite a soft yet assertive mouthfeel. Interesting.

Rating #1900. Bottle. Large white frothy head that was mostly lasting wth fine-small sized bubbles, very nice lacing, yeasty, hazy, and a butterscotch hue. Malty, sweet, spicy, and apple aroma. Flavor was extremely delectable - malty, fruity, apples, spicy, and vinuous but not overly vinuous as to knock your socks off. Very nice indeed! Mouthfeel was tingly along with a burning sensation. Medium body. Would like to get this one again! Definitely worth a try.

lots of aroma, mainly apple, wood, honey and spices on a cloudy orange colored body. ton of carbonation and never flattens out, and a decent amount of sediments. flavors are very even, the wood setting in behind vanilla, apple, honey, lemon, and spices. aftertaste is sweet, the lemon and yeast being the predominant features. when this batch first came out, there was alot of mention that it was a little hot, but i detect pretty much no hint of the abv.

Orange hazy body with good floaties and thin white bubbly head. Aroma of cabernet/merlot and apple spice. Flavor of warm alcohol and apple. Very active carbonation on the palate that erupts into foam in the mouth. I suspect this will improve with age.

Poured a medium and hazy amber color with a larger sized off white head. Some floaters. Aromas of wine, wood, yeast, apples and other fruits. Tastes of fruits, lighter wood and wine, and apples. Has a medium alcohol finish. Lively and bubbly body that explodes in your mouth and ends in a crisp and clean finish. I’m curious to see how this one ages.
