Commercial Description:
Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 2004 is a special version of De Dolle's Dulle Teve, which has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont's Calvados casks. In addition the "invisible" Calvados hidden in the wood itself has pushed the alcohol of De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva to about 12% to 13%

creamy thick & tall white head. very aromatic apple brandy, candi sugar malt, raisins soaked in calvados, fresh apples sauteed in light rum. lightly murky golden amber color. micro-fizz bubbles up the center. flavor is different - kind of boozy like a blend of nice single-malt and brandy. lots of carbonation. maltyness isn’t so sweet, but there is apple there. lacing blankets the glass like a thin white layer of soft foam. finish is dry and has some alcohol heat. young or not still like this bitch.

12oz bottle from Hopdog. Pours a muddy orange color with a big fluffy white head. tons of carbonation. bubbles racing continuously through the body in large masses. nose is very sweet, with some orange peels, lemon peels, possibly some honey and light caramel malt. wow, so fizzy! your whole mouth bubles up, its hard to keep this in you rmouth without giggling or gagging as the bubbles tickle your tongue. quite a stinging dryness, never before felt this intense. first you feel liquid, then you swallow and every bit of moisture goes down your throat with the beer. leftover remnants of some sweet caramel, whiskey or wine like alcohol harshness, some definite fruit, somethin glike mangos, very juicy feel. a few seconds go by after swallowing and your throat begins to warm from your lungs up. It spreds through your molars and up to your lips. your whole mouth becomes heated. I like this. Very unique, complex, and perplexing.

Light amber color with a tall, voluminous off white head. The aromas start with apple juice and metal. The nose does seem to settle down a touch as it sets in the glass. Decent sheets of lace. Light fruit bread and a mild floral hops tingle, wood and alcohol also waft upward. Interesting, but not particularly arousing aroma. Light feel that lifts and separates the sweet liquid from the tongue... 10 minute lapse to prepare portions of supper. OK, the aroma has gained a full triple aroma with a hint of applewood (up one). The time has also lead to the flavors being sharper and more pronounced. A triple with a strength adjustment. More apple than light fruit flavors. and a strong alcohol presence. The presence is more in the form of cidre alcohol, but stronger. I thing I like the original better than this one, but still I enjoy this. This will age, but I’m not sure it will get significantly better.

ohhhhh yeeaaaahhhh i am liking this. hazy orange with a creamy dense orval-like head that doesn’t quit. what a complex aroma. extremely round, fruity and enveloping me in a cloud of stimulating smells. nectarines, brown sugar, cider, indian coriander, lavender, with a strong but not crude wood presence. In the mouth dense raisiny belgian ale sweetness is balanced with zingy green apple and pepper, and plenty of warming but not raw alcohol. there’s something about truly great beer in the stomach that can make me very happy. forced to open it straight away from a shipment from Jokes cause it sprang a minor leak in the bottlecap. thanks denton this is way better than XXXX.

[RBG Low Countries 2005] Aroma is yeasty, citric ans a bit spicy. Clear, copper coloured with a firm, off-white head. Taste is citric, a bit weird, a bit malty, bit portlike and a bit alcoholic. A bit of every thing. ;) Dry and bitter finish. Good brew.

Clear orange color, big slight off-white head. Aroma is spicy, triple-like, some cask wood. Taste has aged notes such as port and wine, cask wood, vanilla. I haven’t tasted much triples that age this well. Good alcohol burn.

Bottle at RBG Low Countries 2005 Creamy, off-white head. Good lace. Amber body. Lots of bubbles raising up from the bottles of the glass. Aroma of white port, caramel and liquor. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Heavily bitter finish. Fully bodied. Quite a lot alcohol present, and despite that fact, it’s quite balanced and interesting.

Bottled at Kulminator. Very fruity aroma of mainly pear and apple. Dark golden color, white head, very nice lace. Sweet, apple, pear, fruity, not exceptionally complex but still very interesting. Medium body, light dry, alcohol very much present.
