Commercial Description:
Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 2004 is a special version of De Dolle's Dulle Teve, which has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont's Calvados casks. In addition the "invisible" Calvados hidden in the wood itself has pushed the alcohol of De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva to about 12% to 13%

Beer pours cloudy with a nice egg white colored head. Aroma is rich and full with lots of winey notes, some wood, alcohol, and earth. Flavor is complicated with sweet vanilla, spicy hoppiness, moderate alcohol and excellent yeast flavor. Finish is bone dry. This is excellent.

Bottle at Kulminator as part of the vertical tasting. Now I am a big fan of the regular Dulle Teve, it does things to me that no other beer can. This had a very attractive vanilla aroma. The body held up with with the ageing and was full in the mouth. The sweetness of the alcohol had died down and there were surprisingly good tasty hops. The best of the reservas for me that we had.

A Mes rate: Bottle at The Kulminator.
Have wanted to try this for a very long time. Finally bit the bullet and went for the full vertical Reserva fest at the Kulminator. Awesome dark blonde colour with good white head and lace. Aroma is stunning. Vanilla, raspberry, slight salt, white wine notes, oak, yeast, grassy hops underneath and then some huge alcohol. Without wanting to sound like I am doing half a job on the rate, the flavour does have all the same. Wonderfully tart and sour. Glorious warmth on the way down. Just bloody great,

Sample in Kulminator Antwerpen. Grassy hops, vanilla and a hint of raspberry in the aroma. Citric flavor with grassy hops and some alcohol. Floral. Just a touch of oak. Top class beer. (3.9) Bottle from Hopscotch, @ home. Orange blonde color, cloudy. Plums and mango in the aroma, with hints of oak and apple. A pleasant sourness challenged by oak and calvados. Notes of pear and plums. Full bodied, alcoholic. Hint of vanilla. Totally different as the regular Dulle Teve

dark golden yellow, huge foamy white head that creeps out of the top of the bottle, thick lace, lots of visible carbonation, spicy aroma with lots of oak, creamy body, huge tart wood flavor that really defines the beer, just a bit of malty sweetness and yeasy breadyness to balance all that wood, so much wood and so little time

Pale gold pour with a half-inch white head. Yeasty nose with a heavy dose of candied fruit. Some oak notes. Malty flavor with an upfront alcohol presence. Warm, dry finish. Rich and flavorful.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a little head. Nice aroma of bubblegum, yeast, wine-like and oak. Flavour of spices, yeast, malt alcohol, sweetness and ends up very smooth and nice.
