Commercial Description:
Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 2004 is a special version of De Dolle's Dulle Teve, which has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont's Calvados casks. In addition the "invisible" Calvados hidden in the wood itself has pushed the alcohol of De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva to about 12% to 13%

Bottled. Orange coloured. Unclear. Small white head. Sweetness, fruits, alcohol and spice in the aroma. Flavour is citric, has apples, loads of alchol, honey and loads of spice. Medium bodied. Dry. Is very alcholdense in the end which is hardly held at bay by fruitsweetness. Thanks to Ughsmash for the trade.

Bottle (2005) at the Club !! Thanks to Engelsman for giving this to The Club. Unclear amber - white head. So this is the famous Calvados aroma/taste. Aroma: Calvados, light apples, honey. Taste: Fruity, pepper, honey sweetness, flowery, light wood, cactus and calvados. A pleasant alcho-burn.

Bottled. Hazy amber coloured. Aroma of various liquor and oak. Sweetish flavour with notes of fruits, liquor and wood. Even though the calvados notes are very noticeable, the beer isn’t really alcoholic. Quite nice.

Big thanks to Engelsman for giving us this one. Pours a hazy light amber. Sweet and spicy with some sourness. Candice and fruit aromas. Nice (compared to Original Dulle Teve) medium carbonation. Also faint hints of calvados (I call it that because iit says so in the Commercial Description... to be honest, I never had calvados) and cacti. Bit too strong alcoburn. And too much calvados (as I´ve chosen to call it.)

A fruity aroma, lots of carbonation, murky brown pour, Some fruit in the flavor, citrus, grape, Bready, abit of alcohol noticeable, but it should mellow abit after time, enjoyable brew! Thanks to several in Mystery swap 2.o that sent this to me!

De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 12 oz bottle Moderate pour in a tulip glass. Bottled 2005, enjoyed 05/07. Poured a hazy amber with a big fizzy white somewhat diminishing head. Smelt of tres strong apple cider, sherry, biscuity malt, butterscotch. It’s kind of like a caramel apple in a way. Flavor was upfront strong sherry and apple cider bitterness and moderate sweet bread and caramel and sour apple followed by a strong bitter woody taste (oak?) and pungent mossy mushroomy smell with light sweet and sour apple compote with spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and allspice on a long Palate was medium bodied, oily, scarce but stinging carbonation, strongly alcoholic and moderately astringent. Overall, the odor took over the room when I poured it. Awesome. Once you get past the alcohol, flavors were intense and jammed packed with beautiful complex flavors. A good marriage of strong cider and malt flavors.

Bottle from Boboski. Caramel malt, yeast, and a light sour scent make up the aroma. Hazy golden brown body with slight head. Thin palate. Weak caramel malt flavor up front, not much sour flavor, just malt. Some oak flavors a hint of vanilla finish this off.
