Commercial Description:
Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva 2004 is a special version of De Dolle's Dulle Teve, which has been matured for over 24 months in wooden casks previously used by Etienne Dupont/France to mature his famous Calvados de Normandie. The over two year maturation in those wooden casks has allowed De Dolle Dulle Teve to mellow, lose its agressive carbonation and dryness, and develop a new balance of flavors triggered by the tannin, vanilla and butterscotch flavors of E.Dupont's Calvados casks. In addition the "invisible" Calvados hidden in the wood itself has pushed the alcohol of De Dolle Dulle Teve Special Reserva to about 12% to 13%

[At RBSG 2005] An amber beer with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, and cork - but in a nice way. The flavor is sweet with notes of peaches, alcohol, and wood. The alcohol burn the throat slightly.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of madsberg/boboski. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Lightly tart aroma. Quite full-bodied, sweetish fruity with very delicate and subtle notes of wood. Has a very warming alcohol in the finish. A nice one. 270607

33 cL bottle at Kulminator as part of the De Dolle Reserva tasting.Pours clear and golden deep orange with a huge white head. Wineous and fruity aroma, light wooden accent - not really oxidised but a hint. Wineous and wooden flavoured, very smooth fruity note. Mild spiced. Dry and bitter lingering finish. Dry wooden lasting impression into finish alongside a slight spiced note.

Name: Dulle Teve Calvados
Date: 06/22/2006

Source: Roadtrip
Vintage: 2003

dark golden yellow, huge foamy white head that creeps out of the top of the bottle, thick lace, lots of visible carbonation, spicy aroma with lots of oak, creamy body, huge tart wood flavor that really defines the beer, just a bit of malty sweetness and yeasy breadyness to balance all that wood, so much wood and so little time

Light bronze colour. No particular head. Phenolic aroma with limited malts. Very winey, alcoholic and slight appley tartness. Mostly hot and appley in the finish. The problem is that the beer was made because the importer requested it, with Calvados barrels because the importer has a relationship with the provider of such barrels, not because the concept was great or because it needed to be made.

Lightly hazed apple juice body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, yeasty, woody, fruity. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, apple, wood, liqueur, vinous. Definite alcohol presence that leaves a light burn. Smooth, full body.
