11.2oz bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours a deep coffee brown with an ENORMOUS beige head that seemed to stick around forever. Nose of dark toasted malts with a hint of booze as well as chocolate and coffee. Flavor was much of the same with coffee flavors and booze being dominant. Didn’t really do much for me.

Bottle. This might be the classic belgian stout. Huge tan head atop a dark brown body. Nose is roasty, light cocoa, a bit nutty, earthy, and some light smoke. Flavors mainly mimic the aroma with the signature de dolle yeast shown in the finish. Alcohol hidden pretty darn well. Enjoyable.

Draught @ Zythos march 7th 2009. The head of this beer was so sturdy, you should eat your way through to get to the beer. This scum is very bitter and endures for ages. Thats why I didnt take my first nip until much later. Finally, absolutely no sweetness found, though it could be masqueraded bij the hops. The palate is rated on a mediocre 3 because it seems not complete. A pity.

Dark crimson color with good head and lacing. Licorice and roast with some fruit in the nose. The flavor is sweet, malty and chocolaty followed by a roasty, moderately bitter middle with accompaning coffee and caramel note. Great brew.

Bottle. Pours a nice black/brown color with a big head. Aroma is filled with sweet notes of dark fruit and some plums and caramell. Also som chocolate in there. Taste is about the same as the aroma with a bit thin mouthfeel.

(33cl bottle, sampled at room temperature) Almost black colour with a giant and stable brown foamy head. Sweet and strong roasty malty aroma with licorice and a very subtle berry-fruity touch, accompanied by lighter notes of coffee and gingerbread, also shy traces of alcohol are detectable. Burnt bitter and moderately sweet flavour, full bodied with an almost crispy carbonation, which is rather disadvantageous here. Full roasty malty base with licorice, coffee, traces of chocolate and dried fruits. Drying out effect towards the end, but still moderately sweet and roasty bitter finish with a moderate alcoholic burn and traces of herbal hops. Complex and moreish Stout (26.II.09)..
