| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Insanely high carbonation; my pint glass has about an inch of beer and 7 inches of head. After that settles, I pour with painstaking slowness to get it down to about 2 fingers of head. Great retention but surprisingly no lacing.
Aroma is of cocoa powder, peanut skins, and prune juice.
Flavor is of brown sugar with a big prune influence. Quite similar to the aroma actually.
Mouthfeel is waaay too heavy on the carbonation, makes it hard to drink.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. Poured dark. This beer has some serious carbonation, Nice burnt notes to go with the chocolate and coffee. It has a nice belgian style sweet finish to it. I found this to be an interesting combination of two styles. Nice beer. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Pours a very dark black with a massive tan head! Strange aroma of sweet roasted malts, black licorice, chocolate, and a rubbery sour smell. Wow, even for a stout the Belgian yeast jumps right out with a strong citric, acidic, sour finish. Strange pairing with this chocolatey coffee initial taste from the stout... Nice full body with a little dryness on the finish from the alcohol. Sips a stout, swallows a Belgian. ironchefscott (342), portland, Oregon, USA
