Nose of roasted malt mixed with fruit. Classic stout favors of coffee and roasted malts overshadowed by fruity sourness, hints of apricot turned to dark cherry as the beer warmed. Interesting and tasty beer.
RERATE: had this beer again a couple of months later, focus was much more on the dark, roasted coffee flavors, more bitterness, without the fruity aspects. Preferred the first. SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA

With only a soft and gentle pour this stout created a glass full of thick tanned foam and took several minutes before it turned into a liquid pitch black. For the aroma, it was pure scent of roasted malts and a touch of sweet foreign chocolate. The initial flavor is a tart and slightly sourness which then follows with roasty dark malt that suggest cocoa beans. One healthy tasting stout. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a deep jet black with a head that doesn’t know when to stop. 4 finger head from a side of glass pour and it’s growing, wow this beer has a beautiful pour, the suds are dancing before my very eyes and the head is growing not shrinking.
Aroma is dominant with coffee and chocolate and roasted barley.
As I chew the head off of the foam of this beer I am reminded of the foam from a frappuccino from starbucks. After gnawing through the 3 inches of foam I finally get to taste the liquid. Taste is of chocolate, roasted b arley, coffee and roasted nuts with a nice bittersweet dark chocolate style finish. But wait, what is this I taste a little sourness as well. What a excellent surprise. Very good beer from de dolle, YUM! MuertosPorter (28), California, USA
