12 oz bottle via csbosox(thanks!). Pours dark dark reddish brown with a large head that tries to crawl out of the bottle and onto my floor....weird smell...like nail polish remover? Ok, now i am scared, this is weird...Taste is somewhere between a sour band-aid and the envelop glue you might lick on a pre-glued envelop with a bit of licorice and anise...this bottle is either bad, or this beer is over-rated....yuck this stuff is pretty awful...down the drain she goes!

Poured a very dark brown or black with a huge brownish tan head that took up about half the glass. Had a decent aroma of some choclate and sweetness. Flavor and body is pretty nice but I kept getting this weird almost unexplainable off flavor. I dont know if it was a little sourness or maybe someting else. The initial and final taste of this is very good, but the middle is what i notice most and it really turns me off. I have to say this is still a very solid beer though

A very special stout, with a remarkable smoothness. Coffee and chocolate notes appear in the aroma and taste. An absolutely must-taste beer if you are into stouts.

Pitch black color. Wonderful nose of dark chocolate, raisins and liquorice. Surprisingly sour malty start. Intense hop bitterness in mouth with some saltiness. Notes of dark chocolate and liquorice. Finishes sweet, smooth and lots of dark chocolate. Nice, but a bit more balance in the mouth would have been nice.

Good stuff. Pours a dark brown, nearly black, with a very lasting head. Aroma is tart and sweet. Flavor is very tart and sweet, almsot like a sour barley wine.

Bottle. Black with lasting tan head. Sweet, malty aroma. Palate is sticky with a distracting prickly carbonation. Rich & full flavoured; roasty, liquorice, coffee & chocolate..nice. Long warming bitter finish.
