Bottle. A very nice aroma, roasted malt, coffee and some cacao, also chocolate. The head is very large, brown and foamy, the duration is very long. The body is black. The first taste is fruity, then it gets malty, also some chocolate in the middle, the finish is a little bit sour with a long duration. The body is medium strong with a lot of carbonation and a very creamy body. A great Stout!

Deep dark brown with tan head. Sweet, fruity, hot, ripe aromas. Fruit cake, acidic coffees, apples, and dates. Nice carbonation level is soft and not too high. Great panoply of flavors are sour, sweet, and roasty together. Love the brewery, love the beer.

Pours a pitch black color with a huge, foamy mocha colored head that settles a to a thin blanket on top. The aroma shows notes of dry, dark chooclate, oak, espresso, and a funy sour yeast character. The flavor is dry and roasty as well with dark espresso and chocolate coming through with hints of oaky vanilla thats adds smoothness. The sour yeast is present throughout and adds an interesting character to the brew. Medium bodied with a lot of carbonation for a lively mouthfeel that finishes dry, and slightly sour. Pretty nice foreign stout.

[1937-20090110] 11.2floz bottle. Licorice anise aroma has heavy malt and sugary sweet wood chips. Dark dark brown red body with a medium-lasting creamy dark brown head. Sweet heavy roasted malt flavour. Full body. Enjoyable.

Bottle shared by Fidel, pours deep brown with a towering, tight bubbled, dark tan frothy head. Nose is chocolate, licorice and a sugary influence. Flavor is the same with the addition of dark vinous flavor. Subtle bitter finish. Medium mouthfeel.

11.2oz bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours a deep coffee brown with an ENORMOUS beige head that seemed to stick around forever. Nose of dark toasted malts with a hint of booze as well as chocolate and coffee. Flavor was much of the same with coffee flavors and booze being dominant. Didn’t really do much for me.
