| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 14, 2006 Hazy, golden body with a giant, fluffy white head. The aroma is fruity, hoppy and yeasty. Esters of passionfruit and mango, fresh oranges, risen dough, light banana, pineapple, musty floral scents, light pine, subtle alcohol, fresh pears and a touch of earthy grain. Truly a delightful nose with beautiful elements from all the ingredients. Nice, moderate-weight body with a soft carbonation that just lightly tickles the tongue. The flavor profile is tasty and pleasing. Nice fruity esters combine with lightly bitter and quite flavorful hops; sweet bready malt and light caramel provide depth and texture; and more yeast, more bitter hops and light alcohol finish off this alchemical beauty. A deep, tasty treat full of fruit, nicely-hopped bitterness, characterful yeastiness and warming alcohol. Another shining example as to why this is one top-notch brewery. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Nose is spicey. And I want to say pears, yeah that’s it,a funky spicey pear creation that I might get as a dessert in some fancy restaurant ,if I could afford to eat at one anyway.Ahhhh thank god for an imagination. Enough said. highlandlad (1278), Sydney, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 31, 2006 This seemed a relatively untypical De Dolle, despite being anchored by that superb yeast. It looked absolutely fantastic - cloudy pale orange with a prodigious head that painted the glass all the way to the foot. The aroma was intensely fruity, with peaches, apricots and a dollop of cream. Quite aggressively tart on the tongue, with some gooseberry and pine greenness, that fabulous De Dolle yeast and US hop bitterness in a long bitter finish. Found it quite phenolic, even after quite a few tastings had knocked the edge of my palate. A good De Dolle, but not thier best work. (Duff homecoming gathering) eczematic (1215), Sydney, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2006 @highlandlad’s - not sure who brought this but i think it was duff. big aroma - superfruity bubblegum (juicy fruits) + hay + herbs - complex and appetisingly fresh. looks hazy tan-orange with a good sticky head. i got the bottom of the bottle which may explain the aggressive yeastiness of the flavour but then again just about every other dedolle beer has been like that. creamy, wheatbeery texture with sharp yeasty flavours - very strong phenolics (burnt rubber). considerable hop bitterness combines with yeast astringency to wind things up. rough and unrefined but interesting. rauchbier (3004), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2006 Bottle conditioned, from a corner shop in Antwerpen. Gold, huge explosive fluffy off white snowdrift of a head, and soft condition. Obviously alcoholic in th nose with some honey sweetness, fruity yeast and low grain notes. Soft and yeasty in the mouth with a slightly citric green apple note and more alcohol. Quite harshly dry in the finish with some bitter yeastiness and grain apparent. And yet more alcohol.

Whilst others raved about this, I personally didn’t think this was one of the mad brewers’ finest efforts. Gold colour, with a big head and big carbonation. Yeasty aroma with spicy and resinous notes. Less presence o the palate. Slightly sharp. Good but not that good.
