Unusual - warming on the finish. Medicinal, aspirin, herby. Tasty brew. maeib (4743), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England

The aroma is spicy peppery and yeasty. The taste is again spicy and peppery in that typical Belgian way. Slips down very nicely but has no real outstanding qualities and merely ends up a bit average. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2005 33 cl Bottle. Light godlen colour, with plenty of foam. Goob aroma og fine hops some candy notes. A dry taste very hoppy beer, notes of some yeast and hints of spice. Very lovely beer. joergen (8617), Frederiksberg, Denmark

A hammer of hops, and a spicy body which seems to imply a high alcohol gravity than it has. An ale version of Christoffel Blond. My favourite Dolle beer. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2005 Spicy hop aroma with nutmeg, flowers, malt, sweet stone fruit, very complex. Orange cloudy brown colour with excellent head and lacing. Spicy fruit flavour with hops. Very big. Smooth palate. MiP (9096), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2005 Bottle. Gusher. The head kept flowing slowly out of the bottle. Yeasty, very spicy aroma with a hint of citrus. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Head is white, creamy and quite unstable. Quite dry flavour, reminding me of Chimay. But also quite vinous and fruity without getting sweet. Aftertaste is also dry, bitter, perhaps a hint of mold. Papsoe (15009), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Orange golden, hazy or perhaps rather murky, with a gigantic head that leaves a good lacing as it slowly collapses. Very flowery nose and citric touches throughout. But it’s the bitter hops that completely dominates this - it’s very, very hoppy indeed. With some late sweetness. Another unusual beer from De Dolle - but far from their best. 300198
