| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2004 Recovered tasting notes from July of 2004. Sampled at the brewery in Esen, Belgium. Aroma is very hoppy, spicy, fruit (pineapple, lemon) and very fragrant. Not stunning, but a pleasing, drinkable beer from De Dolle. Sweet, fruity malts dominate and it finishes with a nice spicy hop character. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA

round 2: i don’t remember drinking this one before, so i’m gonna give it another go (i think this bottle is maybe a different year too). I think the bottle is from 2001 (the plane on the label says "001" on it, which makes it 4 years old. It hasn’t aged as well as some of their other beers (the lower alcohol content may be to blame), but its still quite drinkable, just predominantly tart. aroma is subdued, and malt complexity is mostly hidden by the tartness. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2004 Tasted under the Museum Bier label. This beer poured all head - 5+ fingers. Can’t pick up too many smells - spices & yeast. Spicy tastes, slightly bitter and is that a hint of honey? Also smells and tastes of citris/fruits came out as I drank it. CEZ (373), Milano, Italy
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2004 Cloudy golden colour. Amazing huge, pillowy and lasting white head. Caramel, yeast and perfume in the nose. Taste is malty, zesty, spicy and definitely more bitter than I expected. Long dry finish. Very easy to drink. A good beer (you can’t go wrong with De Dolle), but, strangely enough, I remember being a bit tired of it before I finished the bottle. Must have been in a bad day.
