Tart but wet mouthfeel. Very earthy character with tart notes of citrus and barn funk. You can literally taste the wood in this one. It is a very interesting and complex brew. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2009 2006 vintage. Medium to large sized fluffy off white head sits atop a mahogany colored body. Nose is grape fruitsnacks, tartness, plastic and acid. Taste is salty, tart, pepper, plastic and gasoline. The finish is medium as is the mouth feel. This beer walks the line between a sour and your typical spicy thick and malty BSA. Unfortunately its does neither well and comes up short. Not a fan. StFun (534), Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Very nice and complex beer. Thanks to Sprinkle for popping this one. Very solid brew. The wood flavors really come through on this one. A nice hint of bourbon in the aroma, followed by wood and vanilla. Deep, dark fruits abound. Very nice cherry notes in the finish, maybe even some apple. Not as yeasty as I expected, but the yeast/malt/barley combination is fantastic. I get some wood in every sip, but the other flavors swim in and out. The 13% is not noticeable at all. Fantastic. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2009 2007 bottle. Poured a dark, cloudy amber color with a thin off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, sour fruits and some spice. Flavor is very sour and almost balsamic. Tart cherry flavors are present, along with oak flavors. This definately wasn’t my type of beer, but it was still a decent brew. JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
