Dec 30, 2007 2006 vintage. 330 ml bottle shared by John Bryan (obtained at the brewery), enjoyed at my Holiday Mini Tasting. Pour is ruby-brown with a thin khaki head. Aroma of cloves, anise and all kinds of spiciness. Some nutmeg in there as well. Taste is big sour initially, settling into a really nice woody, cherry, sour, juniper and all of the spices previously mentioned. A bunch going on in this one, this really refined. Thanks for this one John!

Dec 30, 2007 A good Belgian strong, though perhaps overrated.
I poured this dark ruby brown brew and could smell it from feet away, so I had no worries about it being weak in the nose. Nose and flavors matched up well, and were both quite nice, though not amazing by any stretch. Finish was medium to long, and warming.

Dec 28, 2007 330 ml bottle from John’s Marketplace shared by Enniskillen! Nose of caramel, raisins, spices, and light yeast! Hazy brown with a medium beige head; flavor fo dark fruit, yeast, caramel, spices, and very light tartness. Not near as good as Pannepot but pretty decent! Alcohol well covered!

Dec 28, 2007 Brown with a thick white head. Aroma is oaky with some tartness, alcohol, earthy and caramel. Taste is oaky with light wine showing, caramel, alcohol is wonderfully hidden. Very well made beer. Top Notch.

Dec 26, 2007 2006 bottle received from SS ’07, holdenn. Pours hazy ruby-amber with an average, frothy, light brown head, mostly lasting. Aroma is average malt (cookie, caramel, straw), average hops (grass, lemon), average yeast (horse blanket, earth) with notes of light alcohol, plum and cherries. Full bodied, gritty texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness; wonderful sour tartness mixes well with the wood elements.

Dec 26, 2007 Hazy dark red brown with huge creamy head. Sweet malty aroma with flemmish sour characteristics. Sweet sour flavor with overripe fruits and berries. Vinious and complex. Not at all what I had expected....

Dec 24, 2007 Superb subtle integration of the barrel aging. Beautiful mahogany color and persistent head. Tart and funky and quite complex.

Dec 24, 2007 2006 Bottle. Very nice wine aroma with a touch of caramel and green apple. The flavor is a superb combination of caramel malt, red wine, and sourness. It is extremely effervescent with little trace of the 13% alcohol (perhaps the smoothest I have tried at this ABV). A terrific beer!
