2002 bottle shared by someone at DLD. Aroma was pretty sour and sweet both at the same time. A lot of belgian yeast notes coming through. Pretty tastey but will have to be compared to by 2004 bottle.

One of the best sour beers I have ever had. Smelled sour and spicy. Taste was much the same, some sour funk, light malt, spices, an apple/cider taste, and balancing dark fruit. I liked this a ton better than the regular oerbier. Re-rate: Really the same as I remembered before. Great balance, apples throughout, nice touch of funk. Great stuff. No chance I would guess this is 13%

Bottle shared by sliffy. Orange-red pour with a yellowed white head. Aroma held a bit fo funk, light sour elements, some yeast and light oak. Falvors of oak, light sour, pale dry malts, spices and a tinge of funk. Medium-light body, lively carbonation with a dry/sour/sweet finish. Really nice.

2004; Color is dark amber with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has lots of tartness and a less pronounced plum and apple smell as well. Flavor is much the same, very "tarty" with apples plums and grapes and a slight bit of biscuit. Alcohol is very well hidden, medium to full body.

12 oz bottle - 2005. I drank this beer at Stuffed Sandwich. I ordered this thinking it was the regular Oerbier, and was caught by surprise by the sourness of this one. Lots of sour fruits and an almost wine like quality throughout. This beer kind of reminded me of a dark, robust temptation. Pretty good.

2004 12oz bottle, sampled next to regular Oerbier. pours dark amber with small white head around the rim. nose has lots of tartness, red wine, very faint smokeness, red apples, grapes, and plums. really great aroma. flavor has lots of wonderful red wine notes, nice tartness, very fruity (red apples, grapes, and plums), wine tannics, and a very faint toasted biscuit. alcohol is extremely well hidden. mouthfeel is full. wow this is one heck of a beer. very winey and fruity. perhaps a little to tannic. this is a great beer.
