Apperance: Dark brown with a huge foam and lots of lacing.
Aroma: Yeast, Wild apples, Citric notes, Port wine, Wood.
Flavor: Wood, Fruit, Wild apples, Port wine, Belgian yeast.
Palate: A light malt base is overwhelmed by a distinct sourness with lots of flavours going around. Wow.
This reminds me Duchesee de Bourgogne only beefed up and better. Very good beer. Intense! OleR (2068), Oslo, Norway
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2009 Bottle, vintage 2007, brought home from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. A yellow tanned, firm and foamy two finger head rising from a hazed, ruby- brown, lively body. A fresh and funky fruit scent up front; cherries, ripe red berries and orange zest. Followed by a pleasant smell of bubblegum-ish Belgo-yeast and some lactic acid-sourish notes. Taste is quite vinous, yet fresh. Starts fruity and quite tart, paired with a discreet sweetness, followed by some vinous, fruity-sour tones. Medium body strenght, alcohol is well masked. A beautiful (Flemish) sourness lingers in the finish. So nice!. Bigmmartin (371), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2009 2007 Bottle. Strong yeast aroma with some sourness as well. Flavor is initial sweetness followed by a heavy sour, tart cherry flavor. Kind of similar to a flemish sour, but maltier. Sour fans would love it, but I think I prefer the original Oerbier over this one. Skinnyviking (4157), Copenhagen, Denmark

Aroma of fruit and sour berries a shot of hops and alcohol in the background. Pretty high carbonation fruity and sour flavor with a long bitter aftertaste. I would not have guess on such a high alcohol level. tomthompson89 (1488), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2009 2007. Spicy-sour oak nose. Notes of peaches and cherry. Brown cloudy with a thin bubbly head that laces nicely. Well-rounded, led by a reserved sourness into a spicy finish. Good thickness, nice carbonation. A simple yet beautiful beer. Each one had a distinct characteristic. Funky, bretty, raisins, woody and bitter. One of my favorite beers around. Great stuff. travita (1920), Frisco, Texas, USA
