I was a little worried about this one when I got it in a trade from HeRftYDrF. The cork had lifted a bit and it was leaking slowly. I wanted to save this beer for a bit but I decided that it was a "drink now" beer. That being said it probably could have lasted for a few months. As I took off the wire cage that cork popped off with ease. It had a beautiful amber-caramel colour. The aroma was of sour cherries, wood, balsamic vinegar and malt. The flavour was filled with sour cherries, vinegar, wood and earth notes. Large body, high carbonation, creamy and smooth mouthfeel, quite complex. Finished very smooth, long and amazing. Thank you so much for the beer Andre, you are the king of traders.

Bottled 10/2000 (and bought in Brussels, 11 Sept 2001)
Muddy copper color, explosive bottle. Sweet and sour aroma, cellar, wood, some vanilla. Sweet, malty, strong, light fruitness, high woodiness, some sourness. Excellent but maybe too woody (and just a bit too bitter at the end).

This orange-colored beer pours with a large head and has a strong, but pleasant aroma that hints at the unusual flavor to come. The flavor, itself, is very complex: tart fruit, vinegar, sort of a cross between sour brown and gueuze. We had aged this bottle for over a year, and it was worth the wait. Hopefully the Mad Brewers will bring this one back.

Thanks fiulijn for this one ! - The cork is jumping out without much help and the beer is foaming, foaming, ... during about 10 minutes ! Dark red-amber colour with a giant foamy head, strong complex nose of vinegar, noble moisture, green apple, vinous, alcohol; sweet and full-bodied, very strong bitterness, long bitter, fruity and alcohol finish - deeply impressive and very pleasant !

Copper color with the most amazing head. Aroma of sour cherries and oak. Taste was a sour mix of cherries, lemons and apples, lightly sweet maltiness and yeast. All balanced perfectly leaving the sourness you want in this bottle of pure nectar.

Pours orangish brown with a large head. Aroma is tart barnyard with some red berries. Flavor is slightly tart/sour instantly balanced by a sweet berry. A bit of barnyard. There are many subtle layers that play out the longer you think about the beer. I expected this beer to be good and but I did not think it would be this good. Absolutley excellent.

Smooth, clean earth and wood, mild barnyard, slight mustiness and lightly tart aromas in the nose. Orange-brown with generous, pillowy tan head that recedes slowly with incredible lacing. Clean yet definite gueuze character. Notes of light barnyard, horseblanket, tartness, yeast, herbs, hay, cherries and grapes. Wonderful crisp, dry finish. Smooth mouthfeel, despite the high carbonation. Very structured, champagne-like body. So easy to drink and oh so complex and enjoyable. Bottle. Enjoyed with MartinT and Rastacouere.
