De Dolle Stille Nacht Special Reserva 2005

11.6 oz bottle. Cloudy orange with a bit of white froth. Nose is orange and butterscotch with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Sharp carb, medium light, kind of oily. Tastes like scotch and orange juice with oaky drying and lingering hints of strawberry jam. Additional aging may tone down the alcohol.

[bottle] Clear gold color, with a serious off-white head and lacing. Very lively. Aroma is quite fruity, with pear and apple along with some spicy yeast character. Bready malt flavors, very clean, with additional fruits-- pineapple and melon. Very low bitterness; mildly tart. Finishes with a clean malty sweetness and nice mellow alcohol warmth. Outstanding.

Pours a dark golden color with a creamy white head that laces throughout. Smells like fig, spice, dried fruit and a little brown sugar. Taste is buscuit, sweet, a mild tartness and a very smooth finish. Medium in the mouth. ABV is non existant. This doesnt blow you away with flavor but isnt supposed to. A tasty Belgian indeed.

Nice mix of sweet and tart. Good nose, fruity, tart, somewhat yeasty. Slight alcohol, but much smoother than expected, a wee touch of warmth. Smooth and tasty, thanks to whomever traded this too me. I’m pretty sure it was a bonus beer.

Poured hazy orange with a fluffy off white head. Aroma of fruit, vanilla, and oak. Tart fruit flavors with some vanilla and oak hints. Finished with some spice and a light alcohol kick. Very good.

Had a shitload of these and just wasn’t all that impresed. Still have one left for cellaring but traded most of them away. Poured a dark amber, but I reaaly did not get the aromas I was hoping for. Maybe it was my expectations. Some mild fruit notes and a bit of the exotic spice I expect froma BSA but the flavors were muddled a bit lost.

Poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The aroma was mildly tart with a little bit of barrel character, woody and light vanilla. You get some nice fruit in there with notes of soft bruised flesh. Yeasty with some notes of alcohol. the flavor was sweet and yeasty. Fruity malt and light alcohol. Not real peppery. Good warming sensation.

Bottle shared by PilsnerPeter. Cloudy pale golden brew. Nose shows apple, oak, and a soft cherry/fruity yeastiness. Soft palate, chewy and pleasantly sweet. Loads of fruit and spice. I think I need to revisit this one though... somehow my notes don’t really seem to do it justice.
