Surprised to seem some low ratings, maybe its b/c I never had the 2000 and my expectations were much lower. This poured a beautiful still golden, honey yelow color, with a small but firm head. Overall I the beer is able to interwined some different aspects: milkiness, a not overpowering candi sweetness, and lactosey with numerous citrusy and fruity flavors. Nice mediium heavy body and De Dolle does a great job with mouthfeel, not overcarbonated, smooth on the cheeks. RobertGBG (109), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2006 11.2 oz bottle. Fairly clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma of honey, green apples, alcohol and Riesling wine. Alcohol comes on strong with the initial sip, with the flavors of melon, green apple and some oak. Sweet, but not as much as expected. Very aggressive carbonation took a bit away from the mouthfeel. Have three more bottles to see if it ages anything like the 2000(God I hope so!) Pricey bottle, but I’ve been looking for this brew for a while so I’m not one to complain. Yellow cap says something abotu AP 2006 but its hard to read. The beer pours a beautifal cloudy orange with little bits of floating stuff in the bottom. The head grew mightly large and pillowy quickly in my big duvel tulip. The aroma is sweet and alcholic with hints of citrus. The taste is sweet and very strong with a big kick of alchol to the back of the throat. Its very tasty and pleasurable overall, with a little more burn then I’d like but thats about that. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 24, 2006 Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Lightly sour fruity aroma with a touch of spice. Hazy peach color with a generous foamy white head. Flavor starts fruity and sweet with some white wine grape followed by a peppery bite a light tartness and a hint of wood finishing lightly dry and acidic. Medium bodied and creamy with a soft champange like carbonation. Merry Christmas 2006. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway

Big aroma of alcohol and vanilla oakiness. Flavours are more complex with oaky vanilla meeting fruit, yoghurt, ending on a dry woody note. A world-class beer, no doubt.
